"Make It Up In March" Campaign
In the past two years, there have been over 688 cases in Lauderdale County District Court involving people who have failed to appear in court or have failed to pay court ordered monies and have warrants for their arrest. These are people who have traffic tickets or misdemeanor cases in Judge Carole Medley's court.
The Lauderdale County DA's office announces its "Make it up in March" campaign, which will allow these people to avoid arrest, if they pay what they owe or make a payment with the DA's office during the month of March. Beginning in April, officers will be rounding up people with outstanding warrants.
A list of people with unpaid costs may be accessed on the DA's website: www.daconnolly.com. Payments may be made on-line on the website by using the nCourt button at the top right of the home page.
To make arrangements to pay and avoid arrest, you may pay on-line, or come to the DA's office on the second floor of the Courthouse, or call the office at 256-764-6351 during regular business hours: Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
District Attorney Chris Connolly says, "This is a cooperative effort between my office, District Judge Carole Medley and Circuit Court Clerk Missy Hibbett's office. We are under a mandate from the the court system to resolve these warrants. We will work with people throughout the month of March so that they can avoid arrest and pay what is owed to the court system. Judge Medley will hold a court session on April 1st at 9:00 a.m. for those who need to appear in court to resolve their cases."
