Investigator Jerry Pearson has Defendant demontrate his strangulation of Lula Addison.

The Death of Lula Addison (State v Eugene Jones):

Chief Assistant DA Will Powell and I spent this week in a jury trial seeking justice for Lula Addison. On Friday evening, May 22, 2015, around 6 p.m. the jury returned a verdict, convicting the Defendant of manslaughter for the strangulation of Lula in a hotel room in downtown Florence in July 2013. The verdict capped an emotional and taxing week on all involved in the trial and for Lula's family. The Defendant faces life in prison for this crime when he is sentenced by Judge Gil Self.

Thanks is extended to all who had a part in getting some measure of justice in this case. Lead Investigator Jerry Pearson of the Florence Police Department did an outstanding job on the case, along with many others in the police department who worked on the case.

During the trial, we were supported by Mary Anne Rippey, Denny Kimbrell, and others from VOCAL. They provided food and snacks for the family and were an invaluable resource during this time.

May Lula now, at long last, rest in peace.
