On Friday, April 9th, I joined approximately 100 others in our community at The Richards Center in participating in a Poverty Simulation Exercise. This event was conducted by Alabama Possible, a non-profit organization from Birmingham, and is designed to raise community awareness about issues faced by those living at or below the poverty level in our community. I serve on a committee which will coordinate a follow up meeting with participants to discuss ideas/solutions we can implement to address this issue.
